Waterlogged Ear sometimes known as Swimmer's Ear is caused by water becoming trapped in the ear canals following water-sports, swimming, bathing and showering. The trapped water causes a temporary loss of hearing, may affect balance and is frequently uncomfortable. If Waterlogged Ear is frequent then it can also encourage growth of harmful organisms leading to more permanent ear problems.
Traditional solutions such as banging the ear or insertion of objects to absorb the water are highly risky, ineffective and can lead to damage of the ear drum.
